Recreational Teams

A year round program where dancers learn and grow! Read on to learn more about our Rec Teams and find out if they are the right fit for your dancer!

A place to grow.

The best way to describe our Rec Teams is a place for our dancers to grow; in their confidence, artistry, technique, performance qualities, and as a teammate.

Our Recreational Dance Program is the perfect place for dancers to build skills, grow confidence, and fall in love with movement—all in a fun, supportive environment.

Dancers are placed into Level 1 or 2 classes according to their age and skill level allowing them to learn alongside peers at a similar skill set. Each level has the opportunity to explore a variety of styles, including a ballet / jazz combo class and hip hop. In addition, dancers can register for our special session classes to explore additional styles including pom, lyrical, and tap; creating a well-rounded dance experience that keeps classes exciting and engaging.

Classes run throughout the school year, providing consistent training and steady progress while still maintaining a balanced schedule for busy families. Whether your dancer is brand new or continuing to grow their skills, our program is designed to meet them where they are and help them thrive.

At Red Cedar Dance Company, our instructors are passionate about creating a positive atmosphere where dancers feel encouraged, challenged, and proud of their progress—both on and off the dance floor.

Building performers.

We believe one of the most exciting parts of dance is the opportunity to perform—and our Recreational Program is designed to give every dancer moments to shine.

Throughout the season, dancers have the chance to take the floor in a variety of settings, including energetic halftime performances at local basketball games. These experiences allow dancers to perform in front of a crowd, build confidence, and feel the excitement of being part of something bigger.

Our two annual recitals are highlights of the year, where dancers showcase everything they’ve learned in a fun, supportive, and celebratory environment. It’s a special day for families to see their dancer’s growth and for dancers to take pride in their hard work.

We also introduce our dancers to the competition experience through competing at the Menomonie Holiday Classic, giving them a taste of performing in a new setting while still keeping the focus on growth, teamwork, and positive experiences.

At every level, our goal is to create meaningful performance opportunities that help dancers gain confidence, build memories, and truly enjoy being on stage.

Program Details.

Recreational Team dancers are given the opportunity to take two classes; a ballet/jazz combo class, and hip hop class. Each class focuses on a unique routine while building strong foundational skills in technique, musicality, and performance.

In addition to their style classes, dancers are offered technique classes that are included in their monthly tuition. These classes are designed to support growth in areas such as strength, flexibility, turns, and overall execution, helping dancers continue to improve in every style they take. Dancers participating in technique classes will build the strength, skills, and confidence needed to meet the demands of our competition-level teams, should they choose to take that next step.

It is our priority to provide well-rounded training along with a variety of opportunities for dancers to learn, grow, and gain confidence. Our program is structured to challenge dancers at an age-appropriate level while still keeping the experience fun, encouraging, and rewarding.
